Who may benefit from the therapies?

Child centred relationship based therapies are mainly for children suffering from a range of psychological difficulties, such as depression, anxiety and aggression. This type of child psychotherapy is also effective with children who have difficulty with communicating, have neurodevelopmental difficulties, diagnosed with Autism or Aspergers, experienced troublesome events, changes in family structure, domestic violence or moving to a new country. In addition, most children have their difficult moments.

Being assertive, opinionated, resistant and negative are the ways children establish themselves as separate beings. Seamless cooperation is the exception, not the rule.

It is frequently these very basic, and surprisingly normal disconnects bring parents to seek psychotherapy for their children. Whatever the nature of the problem, you the parents and carers know that your child is not thriving and something just isn’t right.
